St. Juliana Fraternity of the Secular Franciscan Order

Who we are.

The Secular Franciscan Order (Ordo Franciscanus Saecularis, OFS), formerly known as the Third Order of St. Francis, is an official Order within the Catholic Church. The Secular Franciscan Order was established by St. Francis of Assisi in 1221 for lay men and women wanting to follow his way of life.

Members of the St. Juliana Fraternity of the Secular Franciscan Order gather in fraternity to nurture their spirituality through on-going formation and active apostolates, devoting themselves especially to careful reading of the gospel, going from gospel to life and life to the gospel.  The process of becoming a professed Secular Franciscan is a journey that involves three separate stages and culminates in a lifelong commitment to live the gospel following the example of St. Francis of Assisi. Our fraternity members come from several surrounding parishes.

The Fraternity generally meets on the third Sunday of the month. Please click the "Contact" button above if you are interested in learning more about the Secular Franciscan Order.
